Has anyone else noticed that 2015-2016 has become the age of 1990's reboots/remakes?

Consider these:

Boy Meets World (Girl Meets World)

Full House (Fuller House)

Gilmore Girls

Lord of the Rings (The Hobbit films)

Harry Potter (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them)

Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon Crystal)

Pirates of the Caribbean (although, they've continued to make these movies for a while)

Beauty and the Beast (1991 -> 2017) [not to mention all the other live-action remakes of Disney animated films of other decades in progress--Cinderella, Jungle Book, Dumbo, just to name a few]

Friends (Friends special)

Ducktales (yep! That's coming back to Disney Channel in a new series, though I think the original was initially started in the late 80's)


I think the entertainment industry at large has decided that they can't come up with good original stuff anymore, so they're bringing back all the things from Millennials' childhoods in hopes of success.
