a prayer for care

(from Thursday, March 17th- St Patrick's Day)

Dear Heavenly Father,
This morning t I'd like to thank you for my dear best friend Kristen, whom I talked to late last night. Lord, it's really incredible how much she's grown up while she's been in college; there are moments when I talk to her and I suddenly realize how mature she is--so much more than me. When I went to college, I started shirking my schoolwork and academic responsibilities, but Kristen has only become more dedicated to work hard towards her goals, even in the times when she has been unfairly burdened with family issues. Father, I thank you that she is getting closer to her younger brother, especially in her time at home over spring break, and I praise You that You have been ever preparing her to deal with the obstacles she encounters in her life. Help her to know that, and to know that You are holding her in Your palm, protecting and defending her and loving and caring for her, even when it doesn't feel that way. Father, I pray that she would feel Your care and Your love for her and for her family always.
