a prayer for adventure

Dear heavenly Father,

Today, after talking to Brigitte on Skype and hearing about all her crazy and insane adventures in Peru, I want to pray for her time there. Lord, thank you for bringing her there safely, and for providing her with the opportunity to spend so many months in such a beautiful place. Thank you for bringing me such a beautiful friend. Brigitte has truly one of the gentlest smiles, and one of the kindest spirits. She’s such a wonderful person to just go and sit with when something is wrong, because she knows that you don’t want to talk about it. Lord, I thank you for my dear best friend.

Lord, I can tell that Brigitte loves Peru already, and I thank you that during this time in her life you’ve given her a much-needed break from home. I pray that her time in Lima would be filled with a renewal of spirit and of wisdom. I ask that you would become more real to her in the coming months, and that she would find your beauty in your creation and people in Peru.

Lord, please bless Brigitte as she has blessed me with her friendship in the past eight years. Please hold her more dearly to Your heart than she has been even to mine :)
